Its a bit slow in here... I think everyone must be enjoying the nice new weather outside. Minus all of the sweat and bugs I'm enjoying it a bit. I can finally drive with the top down all day woohoo :D (can't forget the sunscreen when doing that though lol)

What's everyones plans for the summer?

Plans Plans Plans..
Right now I am TRYING to make a round peg fit a square hole. And no matter how hard I try I just can't seem to make it fit!
We found the 5th wheel RV that we want..
Perfect in all ways, and has everything that we are looking for...
... but the truck we just bought will not pull the weight of the camper.

We are about 2,000 lbs over the limit that that shortbed Ford will pull.
I have tried every option that there is and still come up with the big "Nada..Zip..No can do!
Should have bought a 3/4 ton I guess.
I am so disappointed. So it is back to the hunting and looking . Guess we have to find something smaller and less heavy..
Like a 26' instead of the 28' that we wanted.

Other than that, I plan on camping and fishing
andworking on massages. And enjoying the Kansas summer..
My favorite time of year!

:-\ should have came to me

positive displacement supercharger + aftercooler + upgraded springs and shocks = a nice hauler that'll burn the tires right off the wheels ;D

Update on the fifth wheel...

We did buy one. it is a Wanderer 27ft with glideout ...front kitchen, yada yada yada and it is beeeeeeuuutttiiful.
The truck will pull it, but we have to have the special 'Pull-Rite slider hitch , cause my Ford Super Crew truck bed is only 5' long. Oh well, last year we couldn't of even had one cause short beds couldn't even pull a fifth wheel because they hadn't devised a hitch to do it yet, so we will just suck in our breath and bite the bullet and pay the horrible high cost of this special hitch. :o  It will be well worth it to be able to camp in a 5th wheel again.

We camped out in a tent this weekend, for the last time  :D and I can not tell anyone how glad I am that I don't have to rummage around in a box to find my cooking supplies and load and unload all the gear anymore. Seems everything that you do, you are bent over and my old 52 year old back can't crawl around on the ground like it could when I was 23.

And let me tell you something else.. ( and this isn't just with tent camping.. but the ticks and the chiggers are thick this year... Man oh man, Kjell and I looked like 2 monkeys in a zoo every night, picking ticks off each other...and then later I was scratching all the time, cause they welt up and itch. They don't have ticks and chiggers in Norway, so Kjell is getting a first hand taste of what itching and scratching really mean....Anyone who has had chigger bites know how they can literally drive you crazy.

I finally just gave in and dug my poor ankles (:-[ and other places  :-X ) until there wasn't any hide left..  :'( .

So that is the update on camping and chiggers.
I know I know~~~~

But I TOLD YOU  I would post...
