I have checked the census records, and found Nelson Wilkinson listed in 1880 as living in Howard.  His age given is 46, he is a barber by occupation, his father was born in NY, mother was born in VT, the census gives Nelson's wife's name as Alice, her age is 21 and she was born in Missouri.  Her father was born in NY.

In 1900, I find Nelson Wilkinson living in Cambria twp., Hillsdale, Michigan. His birthplace, his father and mother's birth place all match those that were given in the 1880 census. BUT.....it gives his wife's name as Frances and they claim this is their first marriage. It gives her age as 44, if I remember right. (No one ever said that census records were accurate). It could be possible that her name was Frances Alice or vice versa.  .......Or it could be a different marriage.   Nelson's occupation is -barber.  Nelson's birthdate is December 1835 (as given in the 1900 census)

In 1910 Nelson is found  in Russell two., Camden, Missouri.  He is a barber, widowed, age 75.

As for where his barber shop was located in Howard--I have no idea. Perhaps someone else may be able to help you with that.

I could find no census information on Charles W. Warner in Elk County, Kansas.
