George Francis Meader, age 71, of Longton, Kansas, passed away February 7, 2025 in Andover, Kansas.  He was born December 26, 1953 in Lake Port California to H. Dean and Blanch Lucille (Dwinell) Meador, the youngest of three boys.

George graduated from Lake Port High School in 1972 and moved to the Turlock area to work.  He worked at Armour for a short time followed by Foster Farms' Livingston Processing plant where he worked for more than 34 years.  After leaving Foster Farms, he worked seasonally in St. Helena, California.  In 2017, he bought a home in Longton, Kansas where he retired and lived with his companion of 30 years, Sheryll Overton.

George leaves behind his companion, Sheryll Overton of Longton, Kansas; his son, Shawn Meador and wife, Erin Wilson Meador of Howard, Kansas; his daughter, Jennifer (Laam) Larder and spouse Roseanne Smallwood of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; his stepson, Jake Overton and fiance, Nicole Spencer of Emporia, Kansas; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Per George's request, cremation will take place with no services planned at this time.  Memorial contributions are suggested to your local American Legion or VFW post in his name.  Services have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 206E. Washington, Howard, Kansas 67349.
