Sandra Sue Allen of Milton, Kansas, passed away October 23, 2024 at Golden Age Home in Cheney, Kansas.  She was born on December 31, 1944 on a farm near Severy, Kansas to Wyatt Buren and Bernita June (Boss) Knight.

Sandra grew up in the Severy area and attended Paw Paw Rural School, a  two-room school, before graduating from Severy High School in Severy, Kansas in 1962.  She continued her education by attending business college in Kansas City, completing a secretarial program before working in that area for a plumbing company.  She then returned to Severy and later worked for a plumbing company in Wichita, Kansas.

During the summer of 1966, Sandra went on a blind date with Elbert Ray Allen, who turned out to be the "love of her life".  Three months later, they married on October 2, 1966.  They made their first home in Wichita, Kansas before moving to Norwich, Kansas.  They later moved to Milton, Kansas where they raised their daughter,  Amy Karena who was born August 26, 1974.

Sandra was employed as the payroll manager for Howard Pibkin Chevrolet in Cheney, Kansa and later worked as a payroll clerk at Shepler's Western Store in Wichita, Kansas.  She was later promoted to payroll manager and oversaw the payroll over all the Shepler retail stores throughout the United States.  She retired after 27 years of service in 2007.

Sandra was an active member of the Norwich Christian Church where she had served as secretary for the church board.  She also served as the secretary for the Norwich Boster Club and the Elementary School Home and School Club.  She was active in a prize-winning bowling league and the Norwich Christian Women's Fellowship.

Sandra is survived by her husband, Ray; her daughter, Amy (Mark) Albin of Hesston, Kansas; her brother, Gary Knight of Severy, Kansas; two grandchildren, Chet Albin and Cassandra Albin; multiple special nieces and nephews; and a number of other relatives and many friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; three siblings, David Knight, Cinda Ware-Chandler; and Terry Knight; and an infant son, David Ray Allen.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Norwich Christian Church, 339 S. Main Street, Norwich, Kansas 67118.  A memorial has been established to the Norwich Christian Church. Ebersole Mortuary, 219 W. Spring Avenue, Conway Springs, Kansas 67031 has been entrusted with arrangements.
