Robert S. Leewright, age 81, passed away August 30, 2024 at his home in Valley Center, Kansas.  He was born October 26, 1942 in Great Bend, Kansas to Kenneth Russell and Maude Marie (Grow) Leewright.

Robert attended elementary school in rural Elk County, Kansas at Busby and graduated from Howard High School in Howard, Kansas with the Class of 1960.  He served in the United States Navy and was stationed on the ships, USS Corry and USS Stickell.  He later went to college for two years.  Robert was an electrician by trade for aircraft and retired from Beechcraft in Wichita, Kansas after 50 years of service.  Robert was a part of the Mild Hogs motorcycle group. He had a pilot's license and enjoyed flying, water skiing, and was a weekend farmer for his cattle farm. 

Robert is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara; his children, Troy (Mary) of Columbia, Missouri and Sheri Pearlstein of Hatton, North Dakota; his sisters, Lillias Butts, Margaret Hogan, and Elizabeth Hogan; 8 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Maude Leewright, and his brothers, Jim Leewright and Walter Leewright.

Graveside services were held on September 5, 2024 at Old Mission Cemetery in Wichita, Kansas.
