Marvin Lee Buchele, age 92, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away May 5, 2024 at his home.  Born January 1, 1932 in Cedar Vale, Kansas, he was the son of Charles "Ned" and Thelma Grace (Noland) Buchele.

Marvin and his brother grew up on a farm near Grenola, Kansas, and he graduated from Grenola High School in 1950.  He then attended and graduated from Coffeyville Community College in 1952.  Marvin was drafted into the United States Army and was stationed at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina.  He served his country from 1953 until his honorable discharge in 1955.  He then went on to attended Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas, graduating with a degree in Business in 1959.

Marvin farmed with his father until 1974.  He then moved to Winfield, Kansas and worked at Cessna and the Winfield State Hospital and Training Center.  He was united in marriage to Gayle (Ramey) Randel on June 21, 1976 in Las Vegas, Nevada.  The couple made their home in Winfield.  Marvin went to work for the City of Winfield, retiring in 1996.  Gayle preceded him in death on September 12, 2023.

Marvin enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and fishing.  He especially enjoyed fishing at the Stark Park in Coffeyville and Roaring River State Park in Missouri with his brother, Keith.  Marvin was known by his family and friends to collect various items, and if you were ever in need of a flashlight, gloves, fishing supplies and more, he was happy to help.

His family includes his step-daughter, Judy Powell of Burden, Kansas; his brother, Keith Buchele of Coffeyville, Kansas; his nephews, Mark Buchele of Overland Park, Kansas, Dr. Alan (Sheila) Buchele of Carl Junction, Missouri, and Curtis Buchele of Coffeyville, Kansas; four step-grandchildren; and several great-nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents and wife, Marvin was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Eva Mae (Morrow) Buchele and stepson, Clay Randel.

Graveside funeral services were held on May 9, 2024 at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery in Winfield, Kansas under the direction of Miles Funeral Service.  A memorial was established in Marvin's name for the First Baptist Church in Burden.  Contributions may be made through Miles Funeral Service, 4001 E. 9th Avenue,  Winfield, Kansas 67156 which has been entrusted with arrangements.
