Gregory William "Greg" Carson was born January 3, 1953 in Wichita, Kansas to Ernistine (McGuire) and Lowell Carson.  He passed away on December 15, 2023 at Lake Point Skilled Nursing in Augusta, Kansas.

Greg's childhood was spent in Elk Falls, Kansas and Wichita, Kansas and he also attended grade school in Moline, Kansas.  He graduated from high school in Grenola, Kansas.

After high school, Greg took off for Idaho, but the potato digging was not to his liking.  He then returned to Elk Falls, Kansas.  He was trained as a mechanic in Coffeyville, Kansas and started his own shop, Carson Automotive in Elk Falls in 1981.  He was a fine mechanic and ran a successful business there.

Greg was an avid trapper, hunter, and fisherman.  He educated himself in astronomy and would have the family over to look at the moons of Jupiter with his telescope or listen to the sounds that Jupiter made on his home-built radio telescope.

Greg suffered a stroke in October 2023 from which he never recovered.  He is survived by two sisters and many nieces and nephews.  His memorial service was held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Moline, Kansas followed by burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery near Moline on February 2, 2024.
