Kevin Maurice Wiss, age 66, of Severy, Kansas, passed away March 28, 2023 at his home.  He was born April 1, 1956 to Charles and Delores Wiss. 

Kevin was raised alongside his three siblings in Wichita, Kansas.  As children, he and his brother, Craig were close in age and pretty tight, and their older brother, Doug, would have to stay home and babysit them, so they would always do things to get him in trouble when Mom and Dad got home.

Kevin worked for Beech in Wichita, retiring as Crew Chief after 40 plus years of service.  He was always willing to help anyone he knew and could do just about anything you asked of him.  He was a handyman and seemed to always be fixing things around his mother-in-law's home for her.

In his spare time, Kevin liked to shoot targets, but his favorite pasttime was camping and fishing.  He and his brother would camp out at the Howard Lake every year.  He didn't have certain fish he liked to catch.  It was more about just being out in nature and on the water that he was after.

On July 24, 1999, Kevin married Donna VanBuskirk.  They have shared the last 23 wonderful years together. 

Kevin  is survived by his wife, Donna; his children, Jennifer (Doug) Heltenbach of Wichita, Kansas,  Heather Denchfield of Shawnee, Kansas, and Miles (Kactus) Bidwell of Severy, Kansas; his grandchildren, Henry, Kevin, Destiny, Kash, and Konlee; his siblings, Craig (Rhonda) Wiss of McPherson, Kansas and Nancy (Ryan) White of Corvallis, Oregon; ; his sister-in-law, Connie Wiss; and nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Doug.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 3, 2023, at the Severy United Methodist Church in Severy, Kansas.  Interment will follow in South Lawn Cemetery near Severy.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Kidney Fund and can be left with or mailed to the funeral home.  Services have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 206 E. Washington, Howard, Kansas 67349.
