Dustin Carl Garner of Eureka, Kansas passed away on March 22, 2023 in Piedmont, Kansas at the age of 60.  He was born on August 21, 1962 in Eureka, the son of Harold and Patsy (McClenahan) Garner.

Dustin was raised in Columbia, Missouri, graduating from Hickman High School with the Class of 1980.  After his schooling, he joined the United States Marine Corps in 1980.  He was stationed in California and Hawaii, serving with honor and dignity, and was honorably discharged in 1984.

After his discharge, Dustin graduated from Columbia College with a Bachelor's degree. He later earned a Master's degree as well as a Paralegal certification.  He worked in several varying positions in California and Texas before coming to Kansas.  On February 25, 2017, Dustin was united in marriage to Gia (Willouby) Koch in Wichita, Kansas.  He was welcomed to the family by Gia's two sons from a previous marriage.

Dustin loved Pickleball, exercising, creative writing, his dog, and spending time with his family.  He will be deeply missed by many family members and friends.

Dustin is survived by his wife, Gia of the home; his parents, Harold and Patsy Garner of Piedmont, Kansas; his stepsons, Chandler D. Koch of Severy, Kansas and Brandon R. Koch of Overland Park, Kansas; three siblings, Genell Garner and fiance, Marty Ringggold of Emporia, Kansas, Gayla Garner and husband, Troy Hoefer of Fort Worth, Texas, and Tony Garner of Piedmont, Kansas; and three nieces and nephews, Jozie Viken, Casey Garner, and Murphy Hoefer.

Memorial services will be held at a later date in the spring.  Cremation has been effected.  Inurnment will take place at a later date at Piedmon Cemetery in Piedmont, Kansas.  Koup Family Funeral Home of Eureka, Kansas is handling arrangements.  Condolences may be left for the family online  at www.koupfunerals.com.
