Christopher Alan "Chris" Moomey of Emporia, Kansas was born August 4, 1992 south of Hamilton, Kansas to Mark and Kimberly (Long) Moomey.  He passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on December 31, 2022 in Chuckey, Tennessee at the young age of 30.

Chris graduated from high school in Hartford, Kansas in 2010.  In September 2010, he married Mara Lynn Cummings.  They had a son, Christopher Lee, before divorcing.  In 2017, Chris married Abigail, and they had two children together, Wyatt Alan and Freya Jayne.

Chris served in the United States Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller stationed at Keesler AFB from 2010-2019 when he was medically retired.  He subsequently worked fro the FAA and was a proud NATCA member.

Chris was one of the single most selfless people you would ever know.  He was the type of guy who would drive 100 miles to help someone, even if he didn't know them, and/or to take the shirt off his back to help them. He was a kindhearted and very generous person.  He was always happy and made those around him happy, as well. Chris will be forever missed  by all who knew him.

Mourning his loss are his wife, Abigail "Abby" Moomey; his sons, Christopher, age 11, and Wyatt, age 4; his daughter, Freya, age 2; his mother, Kimberly Benson; his father, Mark Moomey; his brothers, Jonathan (Edith) Moomey, Patrick (Ashley) Moomey, and Mark Benson; his sister, Katie (Jordan) Ring; his grandfather, Tom Long; his grandmothers, Mary Moomey and Peggy Mast; and countless other extended family members and friends.  Chris was preceded in death by his grandfather, Martin W. Moomey.

A graveside service with full military honors will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at South Lawn Cemetery in Severy, Kansas.
