Elva Jo Jellison, age 76, of Sedan, Kansas, passed away December 18, 2022 at Pleasant Valley Manor in Sedan.  She was born on October 22, 1946 in Ada, Oklahoma to A.B. and Helen (Kemp) Northam.

Elva Jo graduated from Moline High School in Moline, Kansas.  On December 19, 1964, she married Vernon Leroy Jellison in Moline.  They made their home at the Garvin Ranch near Moline before moving to a ranch near Woolaroc, Oklahoma.  They lived several places in Oklahoma and Kansas.

Elva Jo completed her LPN in Enid, Oklahoma in 1986.  She worked for numerous nursing homes throughout the area for several years before her retirement.  She also was a housewife for several years.  She was one of the founding members of the Sedan Round-Up Club.  She enjoyed cooking many meals for ranch hands all over the area.

Elva Jo is survived by two sons, Marshal (Debbie) Jellison of Sedan, Kansas and David Jellison of Coffeyville, Kansas; two brothers, Dennis (Sandy) Northam of Wilburton, Oklahoma and Matthew Northam of Alva, Oklahoma; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon, on June 19, 2003. 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church, 204 N. Chautauqua Street, Sedan, Kansas with Pastor Penny Goldberg officiating.  A private interment will be held at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Grenola, Kansas.  The family has suggested memorials to the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice that can be left with the funeral home or mailed to 1503 W. 11th Street, Coffeyville, Kansas 67337.  Dickens Family Funeral Home, 209 N. Douglas Street, Sedan, Kansas 67361 is in charge of arrangements.
