Shiela Williams, age 66, of  Piedmont, Kansas, passed away on February 12, 2022 at her home.  She was born February 18, 1955 in Wichita, Kansas to Emerson and Norene (Hardy) Riley.

Shiela grew up going between Wichita and Piedmont.  She didn't talk a lot about her childhood, but the few stories she told were very special to her.  In her younger days, she loved spending time with her nephews, Steven and Danny.

In December 1973, Shiela married Billy Whitaker.  They had four chidlren together and later divorced.  Shiela worked various jobs, but one of her favorites was being a bartender.  She met so many people, making lifelong friends.  Later in life, she attended school and became a CNA and worked for Windsor Place helping others with their daily living needs.  She was a hard worker and loved helping her clients.

Shiela raised her children in a house full of music and games.  There was always music playing, whether it was on the radio or Shiela was singing to her kids.  She loved her family which included her friends and her animals.  If you knew Shiela, you know she was a fun-loving person who loved to laugh and have a good time.  In her down time, she like to read, especially Stephen King books.

Shiela is survived by her chidlren, B.J. (Rhonda) Whitaker of Dennis, Kansas, Debbie Wise of Piedmont, Kansas, Becky (James) Greenwood of Beloit, Kansas, and Crystal (Kelly) Vancil of Severy, Kansas; her nephews, Danny Lee and Steven Lee; her brothers, Jack Lee and Tom (Dawn) Lee, all of Wichita, Kansas; her sisters, Barbara Harrington of Iowa and Sandy Rumford of Moline, Kansas; 28 grandchidlren; and 2 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Richard Lee and Robert Leee.

Per Shiela's wishes, cremation has been effected.  Her family will hold a Celebration of Life on Friday, February 18, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at the Community Center in Piedmont, Kasnas.  There will be a small ceremony followed with a pot luck and the celebration with music and friends throughout the evening.  Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society and can be mailed to or left with the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Countryside 'Funeral Home, 206 E. Washington, Howard, Kansas 67349.
