Scott Michael McLean, age 43, of Howard, Kansas, passed away January 15, 2022 at Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka, Kansas.  Scott, also known as Bud or Scotty, was born to Mike and Barbara McLean on October 22, 1978 in Sedan, Kansas and lived in Howard most of his life.

Scott enjoyed sports of many kinds, playing, coaching, and watching.  Scott's humor and wit were a huge part of his personality.  The amount of useless knowledge he had could fill a book and was something he was all to happy to share with anyone he talked to.  His hobbies included gardening with his family, hunting, fishing, and grilling or smoking anything and everything edible with his Dad and son.  He often could be found hanging out by the fire pit with family and friends.  He was a devoted husband, father, son, grandson, brother, and friend.  To know him was to love him because he lived and loved BIG!

Scott and April met in high school when she moved to Moline, Kansas, and they started dating shortly after.  They were married July 28, 2001.  In 2011, Scott took a job out of Coffeyville, Kansas with 4State Maintenance Supply Company and returned to Howard with his wife and four kids, Avery, Holton, Turner, and Holly Jo.  He and April spent time together gardening, going to the kids' activities, attending church at First Baptist Church of Howard, and supporting many of Howard's organizations.  He was a City Councilman and enjoyed it greatly.  His faith was important to him and something that he hoped and prayed that others could see.  He loved his job and never quit working.  When asked what Scott did for a living, April and the kids would reply "He sells toilet paper and toilet paper accessories".

Scott loved and lived for his family.  He worked hard at making his parents proud.  He was a momma's boy and his Dad was his best friend.  He had two sisters that spoiled him rotten and continued to do so even into adulthood.  He was so proud to say that Elaina and Tania were his sisters, and that pride transferred to his brothers-in-law and his nieces and nephews.  His capacity to love made it easy for him to be loved by so many.  If you were lucky enough to call him friend, you were thought of as family.

Scott will be missed in this life by his wife, April; three kids, Avery, Holton, and Holly Jo; his parents, Mike and Barb McLean; sisters, Elaina (Dustin) Wilhite and Tania (Nathan) Turner; mother and father-in-law, Robin and Mark Brisbois; sister-in-law, Shona (Trek) Lewis; brother-in-law, Gary Adams; nieces, Chloe Elizabeth, Izzy, Emaly, and Laela; nephews, Pistol 1, Barefoot, Pistol Too, Randy, and Kirk; grandparents, Richard and Juanita McLean and George Weyrauch; and his brothers, Clay Conard, Dewey Price, Jeff Zimmers, and Daryl Livergood.  Scott was preceded in death by his son, Turner; his Granny, Cleo Weyrauch; and his uncle, Tom Wolf.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 21, 2022 at Countryside Funeral Home in Howard, Kansas.  Funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 22, 2022 in the West Elk High School Gymnasium in Howard, Kansas.  Interment will follow in Grace Lawn Cemetery in Howard, Kansas.  Services have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 206 E. Washington, Howard, Kansas.
