Reba Wanda Ashley, 93, of Independence, Mo., and formerly of Cedar Vale, died Sunday at the home of her daughter near Fredonia.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Fredonia City Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Brodbeck of the Fredonia Christian Church officiating.

Friends may call until 9 p.m. today at Zimmerman Funeral Home in Howard.

A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association and contributions may be left with the funeral home.

Mrs. Ashley was born Nov. 18, 1913 at Wichita, the daughter of Asmer and Beryl Jannett (Earnst) Gray.

On Jan. 21, 1933, she married Paul Hebb at Eureka.  This marriage later ended.

On July 3, 1941, she married Clifford Morris At Sedan, and they made their home at Independence, Mo., Independence, Kan., and Cherryvale before moving to Cedar Vale in 1977.  They operated the Wagon Wheel Bait Shop in Cedar Vale. Mr. Morris died in 1980.  

On Nov. 11, 1990, she married Edward Ashley at Wichita.  He died in 1991.

Mrs. Ashley worked as a sheet metal worker at Boeing and Cessna Aircraft companies until her retirement.  She had made her home in Independence, Mo., during the past few years.

She is survived by two daughters, Carol Rogers, Fredonia, and Dottie Oakleaf, Wichita; two sons, Louis Morris, Lawson, Mo., and Jack Nash, of Texas; three stepdaughters, Neva Jones, Kearney, Mo., Nita Fox, Bartlesville, Okla., and Vera DePue, May Pearl, Texas; and several grandchildren and great-grandchidlren.

So this is the sister of Waldo and Jack Gray, right?

I believe that would be correct because Waldo's dad's name was Asmer.

The obituary in this week's Express lists Jack and Waldo as her deceased brothers.
