James David "Jim" Dixon, age 75, of Moline, Kansas, passed away November 18, 2021 at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.  He was born in Winfield, Kansas on April 4, 1946 to Carlton and Margaret (McGinley) Dixon.

Jim was raised on a farm southwest of Moline, Kansas just across the way from his grandparents.  He wore a path out between his home and theirs.  He attended and graduated from Moline High School with the Class of 1964.  He was a true Hornet, white and blue.  After graduation, Jim joined the United States Army National Guard where he served until his honorable discharge when he then returned home.  He joined the American Legion where had been a member for 31 years.  He continued his education at Independence Community College and Emporia State University.

Jim was blessed with two daughters and a son, and he took great pride raising them on the farm.  He loved the land, fishing, hunting, and being at the lake.  He taught countless kids how to water ski during the summer.  Jim met each morning with zest.  He believed to get up and get with it.  He just loved living his life.  Jim was never scared of work.  He owned Dixon Oil and Drilling and raised cattle.  As much as he liked working, he also looked forward to the sunset because it meant quittin' time, and he enjoyed many a sunset with a cold beer.

Jim was united in marriage to Robin Berntsen on his grandparents' anniversary, June 30, 2006.  He loved God and country, and he believed in the golden rule.  He supported the 4-H, the Drillers baseball team, and the Elk County Rodeo.

Jim's memories will live on with his wife, Robin; his son, Curtis Dixon; his daughters, Kristy Hanks and Julia (Richard) Fechter; his brother and best friend, Mike (Cindy) Dixon; and his grandchildren, Rocky Hanks, Wyatt Fechter, and Payton Fechter.  He now rests with his parents, Carlton and Margaret Dixon, and his grandparents, Curtis and Julia Dixon.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the Moline Methodist Church in Moline, Kansas.  Interment will follow at the Moline Cemetery.  The family suggests memorials be made payable to the Moline Alumni or the Elk County Rodeo Association.  To share a memory to to leave the family a message of condolence, please visit www.fordwulfbrunschapel.com.  Services have been entrusted to Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home in Coffeyville, Kansas.
