Martin Aamer Lanz, 55, of Coburg, Oregon and a frequent visitor in Howard, Kansas, passed away from COVID-19 and other related issues in the Bartlesville, Oklahoma hospital on November 2, 2021 with Nadine and Marlin Baumgartel by his side.  He was born September 20, 1966 to Lloyd Eugene and Tlaf Joyce Lanz. 

Martin was originally from Pakistan and came to the United States with his mother when he was seven years old.  They finally settled in Oregon, and as a youth, he helped his parents on the mint farm in Oregon learning the discipline of farm life.  He grew up in a Christian home, and as a younger man, he led a team of youth from his church on various mission trips.  He was gifted for being young at heart himself.

Martin graduated from Sheldon High School and joined the military, serving in the United Stats Army and was stationed in the Middle East.  He had a variety of career adventures which included working in a dental lab building crowns, and most recently, he worked for Bridge Access Specialties inspecting bridges. 

Martin was young at heart and enjoyed a good time for sure.  He enjoyed golf, baseball, watching sports, and amusement parks.  He loved life .........from grilling steaks with Marlin, learning how to play piano with Stacie, throwing water balloons with Levi, to a good old night on the town in his favorite purple shirt.  He will be remembered for the laughter and joy he brought to so many lives in Howard as his work brought him here for months at a time. 

Martin Lanz was a son, a brother, and a friend to many of us.  He traveled around the world in his 55 years, but now he has made it to his final destination, back in the arm s of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 

Martin is survived by his ex-wife, Carrie Jo Lanz; his daughter, Alyssa Franklin; his granddaughter, Isabelle of North Carolina; and two half-brothers, Tim and Jeff Lanz, both of Oregon. 

A Celebration of Life service was held on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at the First Baptist Church in Howard, Kansas.  Memorial donations may be made in his name to the First Baptist Church, 145 Cedar Street, Howard, Kansas 67349.
