Kevin Andrew Kimzey, age 67, of Sedan, Kansas, passed away on April 27, 2021 at Pleasant Valley Manor in Sedan.  He was born August 17, 1954 in Sedan, Kansas to Ralph and Vada (Towery) Kimzey.

Kevin graduated from Elk Valley High School in Longton, Kansas in 1973 and Cowley County Community College in Arkansas City, Kansas with  an Associates Degree in Farm Management.  He was an active member of the Longton Free Fair Board, Caney Valley Electric, and Elk County Farm Bureau.  He ran a cow/calf operation and a yearling back grounding operation as well as a custom haying operation.

On May 31, 1975, Kevin married Gena Johnson.  They were married for 42 years and 11 days until her passing in 2017.

Kevin is survived by his children, Andrea Renee Kimzey and Joseph Gene (Tatum) Kimzey; grandchildren, Miles Andrew Gadelman, Keeli Jo Kimzey, and Karci Lee Kimzey; and siblings, Ruth Murphy, Faith Huddle, Marguerite Rasmussen, Maradean (Rodney) Phinney, and Janet Hadlock.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Vada Kimzey; brother, David Kimzey; daughter, Tami Laurette Kimzey; and wife, Gina Laurette (Johnson) Kimzey.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Countryside Funeral Home in Fredonia, Kansas.  Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  Private family burial will follow.  Services have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 420 S. 20th, Fredonia, Kansas 66736.
