Ruby Anne Hopwood, age 81, of Flowery Branch, Georgia, passed away December 29, 2020 at Northside Hospital Forsyth in Cumming, Georgia.  She was born on November 24, 1939 to John Clarence and Anna Mae (Bales) Garrett in Howard, Kansas. 

Ruby grew up in Elk County, Kansas and graduated from Howard High School in Howard, Kansas with the Class of 1957.  She and Stanley Howard Hopwood were married on July 8, 1959 in Garnett, Kansas.

Ruby was a kind and loving wife and mother.  She was a member of Chicopee Baptist Church in Gainesville, Georgia and retired from the Hall County Board of Education where she was a bookkeeper.

Ruby Anne is survived by her husband of 61 years, Rev. Stanley Hopwood of Clermont, Georgia; her children, Becky (Lynn) Yarbrough of Clermont, Georgia, Stana Hopwood of Gainesville, Georgia, Eddie (Arlene) Hopwood of Flowery Branch, Georgia, Gary Hopwood of Lula, Georgia, and Jeff (Cris) Hopwood of Chicopee, Georgia; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; her sister, Dorothy P. Browder of Gordon, Nebraska; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2021 in the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home in Flowery Branch, Georgia with entombment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery.  Rev. Clyde Self will officiate.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations my be made to the Children's Department of Chicopee Baptist Church, 13 First Street, Gainesville, Georgia 30504.  Online condolences for the family may be left at www.memorialparkfuneralhomes.com.  Memorial Park South Funeral Home of Flowery Branch, Georgia has been entrusted with arrangements.
