Robert Leon Gronau of Fall River, Kansas passed away peacefully on December 4, 2020 at Kansas Medical Center in
Andover, Kansas at the age of 82.  Robert was born on November 24, 1938 in Newton, Kansas to A. M. and Agnes (Endres) Gronau.

Robert was a graduate of Newton High School in Newton, Kansas and joined the United States Airr Force soon after graduation, serving from 1956 to 1960.  He was stationed at Pease Air Force Base in Greenland, New Hampshire where he met Nancy Redden.  They were married on August 12, 1961 in Dover, New Hampshire and were married for 59 wonderful years.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy of Fall River, Kansas; his children, Mark Gronau and Kim Wilson of Fall River, Kansas and Shawna (David) Clay of Olathe, Kansas; his granddaughter, Taylor Clay of Olathe, Kansas; siblings, James (Dennes) Gronau, Jeanie (Jim) Senn, and Rita Gronau, all of Newton, Kansas; and three nieces and six nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, A.M. and Agnes Gronau and his sister, Susan Gronau.

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the family is planning a Celebration of Life event to honor Robert in the near future to allow out-of-state family the ability to attend.  Cremation has been requested, and memorials in Robert's memory have been suggested to the Fall River Library and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.countrysidefh.com.  Services have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 420 S. 20th Street, Fredonia, Kansas 66736.
