William Russell Wood, age 83, passed away August 7, 2020.  He served in the United States Army, graduating from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana and Washburn Law School in Topeka, Kansas.  He practiced law in Wichita, Kansas until his retirement in 1988 when he relocated to rural Elk County, Kansas.

William is survived by his sons, William (Pamela) Wood II of Wichita, Kansas and Steven (Andrea) Wood of Palm City, Florida; his grandchildren, Michael Wood, Lauren (James) Dutcher, and Alex Wood; and one grandchild, Elliane Dutcher.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Evelyn (Martin) Wood.

No services will be held.  A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Memorial contributions may be made to:  Butler Community College Foundation, Hubbard Welcome Center, 2000 Building, 901 S. Haverhill Road, El Dorado, Kansas 67042.  Webb-Shinkle Funeral Home of Clearwater, Kansas is handling arrangements.
