William Charles "Billy" Stewart, age 74, of rural Belknap, Kansas, passed away on May 16, 2020 at his home.  He was born on June 14, 1945 in Winfield, Kansas to William Harold and Bernice Myrtle (Keplinger) Stewart.

Billy was raised in the Belknap area where he attended school through the eighth grade.  He then graduated from Sedan High School in Sedan, Kansas.  He worked at Rubbermaid in Winfield, Kansas from 1988 until he retired in 2008.  He also worked on his farm where he raised pigs and cattle for many years.  On May 5, 1994, he married Vicki Jones in Miami, Oklahoma.

Billy was a board member of the Public Wholesale Rural Water District #1 and also was the President of the Belknap Senior Citizens. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Billyl is survived by his wife, Vicki of the home; one daughter, Robin Sandy of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; one son, William Lynn Stewart of Grenola, Kansas; one brother, Gene (Elaine) Stewart of rural Belknap, Kansas; one stepson, Rick (Karen) Hopper of rural Rock, Kansas; one stepdaughter, Melissa (Daryl) Leverenz of Arkansas City, Kansas; 6 grandchildren; and two nephews, Mark (Rebecca) Stewart and Brian (Brook) Stewart, all of rural Belknap, Kansas.  He was preceded in death by his parents. 

Cremation has taken place, and the family will hold a memorial service on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Belknap Cemetery.  The family has suggested memorials to the Belknap Senior Citizens, the Belknap Church, or the Belknap Community.  Those remembrances may be left in care of the funeral home.  To leave a message for the family, visit www.dickensfuneral.com.  Dickens Family Funeral Home, 209 N.
