Connie Beth Hudson of Emporia, Kansas passed away on March 2, 2020 at her home at the age of 67.  She was born on January 20, 1953 in Winfield, Kansas, the daughter of Robert L. and Neva Lea (Osborn) Cunningham.

Connie grew up in Elk Falls, Kansas and attended local schools, graduating from South Elk High School in Moline, Kansas in 1971.  She married Carl Fairbanks but later divorced.  She then married Michael Hudson on November 14, 1987 in Reno, Nevada.

Connie was a LCSW social worker in southeast Kansas for 15 years.  She obtained a Bachelor in Science in Social Work degree from Pittsburg State University in 1995 and a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Kansas in 1998.  Connie was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, the Altar Society, PEO Chapter DI. Junto, the Master Gardener's Club, Celebrate the Flint Hills, and Moms Demand Action, all of Emporia, Kansas.

Surviving family members include her husband, Michael Hudson of Emporia, Kansas; a son, Jeff (Glenda) Hudson of Enumclaw, Washington; a daughter, Rachel (Tim) Duncan of Emporia, Kasns; grandchildren, Hannh, Seth, and Natalie Duncan and Piercen and Morgan Hudson; and several cousins in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas.  Connie is preceded in death by her parents and her son, Robert W. "Rob" Fairbanks.

The rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 9, 2020 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home in Emporia, Kansas with a visitation following the rosary until 8:00 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 101 Cottonwood Street, Emporia, Kansas.  Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at the Elk Falls Cemetery in Elk Falls, Kansas.  In lieu of flowers, Connie and the family request a memorial contribution to PEO Chapter DI Education Fund in care of the funeral home.  Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, 605 State Street, Emporia, Kansas 66801 is in charge of arrangements.
