Dorothy Tiffany passed away March 2, 2020 at Washington Regional Hospice in Fayetteville, Arkansas.  She was born on June 14, 1931 in Wichita, Kansas to Ray and Frances (Wells) Perkins. 

Dorothy graduated from Westtown Private Quaker Boarding School in Westtown, Pennsylvania and attended college in Earlham, Indiana and Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas.  She married Floyd Tiffany, Jr, and they made their home in California.

Dorothy taught math and tutored many people of all ages throughout her life, sharing her love for math.  She opened the Heritage House Store in Howard, Kansas in 1988 and expanded to include the Elk County General Store in 2014.  She also provided the community with a U-Haul service for Elk County and the surrounding communities for over 30 years.  She owned her own tax preparation service, traveling five states since 1968.

The family returned to Kansas in 1970 and moved to Howard, Kansas in 1976.  She was active in the community, being a 4-H leader in California as well as Elk County, the Chamber of Commerce, Elk County Development, Elk Falls Outhouse Tour, and many other organizations.  She was also very active in the Quaker Meeting and local churches.  Her hobbies included teaching and playing Bridge, doing puzzles, and spending time with her family.  She will be dearly missed by her family and all that knew her.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Richard (Gladys) Tiffany of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Joyce (Robert) Sweetman of Liberty, South Carolina, Carolyn (Kelley) Zellner of Humboldt, Kansas, and Linda Davis of Humboldt, Kansas; her brother, Jim Perkins of Howard, Kansas; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband;  a son-in-law, Michael Davis, Sr.; and a sister-in-law, Barbara Perkins.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, March 6, at 4:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, 815 E. Randolph, Howard, Kansas with Pastor Susan Galvan officiating.  Memorial contributions in Dorothy's name can be made to the American Friends Service Committee and can be mailed to or left with the funeral home.  Services have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 206 E. Washington, Howard, Kansas 67349.
