Bonnie Mustoe, age 89, of Longton, Kansas, went to be with the Lord on February 16, 2020 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  She was born at Hale, Kansas on November 16, 1930 to Ruby (Elmore) and Ben Truitt.

Following the death of her brother, Rex Truitt, on Okinawa on June 9, 1945 during World War II, the family moved to Longton, Kansas.  Bonnie graduated from Longton High School in 1948.  She married Maurice "Bob" Mustoe on August 26, 1948.  The couple made their home on their ranch south of Longton until December of 1986 when they moved to Escondido, California.

Bonnie worked as an Administrative Assistant at Union Gas, Inc. in Independence, Kansas for 24 years before moving to California.  She then worked as an Administrative Assistant at the San Diego Wild Animal Park for 20 years.  She also worked part-time at the Chamber of Commerce in Escondido after retiring from the Wild Animal Park.

Bonnie enjoyed traveling, and especially enjoyed any occasion that would bring her family all together.  She loved her family and extended family.  She was a friend to all.  Bonnie was a member of the Emmanuel Faith Community Church in Escondido where she served as President of the Keenager Board, was a greeter at the 8:00 a.m. church service, and was an active participant of the BYKOTA Sunday School class.  She recently relocated from Escondido to Longton, Kansas and was looking forward to being re-engaged in the community.

Bonnie is survived by her three children, Cathy (Harvey) Mitchell of Escondido, California and Longton, Kansas, Karen (Gary) Crosslin of New Douglas, Illinois, and Mark (Kathy) Mustoe of Leawood, Kansas; nine grandchildren, Lauren McCoy of Camarillo, California, Morgan Wasem of Tahachapi, California, Michael Mitchell of Escondido, California, Kaycia Buehler of Staunton, Illinois, Karissa Smith of Staunton, Illinois, Kailey Crosslin of St. Robert, Missouri, Raymond Crosslin of Yorba Linda, California, Kent Mustoe of Abilene, Texas, and Whitney Mustoe of Johns Island, South Carolina; five great-grandchildren, Molly and Greg McCoy, Russell Wasem, and Victor and Kaliana Buehler; her sister, Patsy Hoover of Euless, Texas; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins along with many friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice "Bob" Mustoe; parents, Ben and Ruby (Elmore) Truitt; her brother, Rex Truitt; and her sister, Doris Woodman.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 21, 22020 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home in Howard, Kansas 67349.  Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the Elk Valley High School Gymnasium, 701 S. Delaware, Longton, Kansas 67352.  Memorial contributions in Bonnie's name can be made to the United Methodist Church of Longton, the Elk County Fire and Rescue, or the Wycliffe Bible Translators USA and can be mailed to or left with the funeral home.  Services have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 206 E. Washington, Howard, Kansas 67349.
