Roland E. Barnaby, age 80, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away January 10, 2020.  He was born on December 29, 1939, the son of James and Doris Barnaby.

Roland grew up in rural Howard, Kansas and graduated from Howard High School in 1958.  He was an avid fisherman.  He competed in bass fishing tournaments and also fished for crappie.  He was a fan of good old country music and also had a ham radio under the call sign "Norad".

Roland is survived by his wife, Lorna; his son, Jason (Tina) Barnaby; his daughter-in-law, Laura Shyrock; his brother, Les (Wayne) Barnaby; his sisters, Geneva Barnaby and Wannita Arnold; his grandchildren, Joseph (Starla) Barnaby, Bethany (Alex) Tyler, Thomas Barnaby, and Mayece Barnaby; and a great-grandson, Mason Edward Tyler.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Doris Barnaby; his son, Troy Barnaby; and his brothers, Max Barnaby, Steve Barnaby, and Dale Barnaby.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 W. Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209.
