Carl Rex Armstrong, 79, of Augusta, Kansas, passed away November 1, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Oswego, Kansas on August 28, 1940 to Rexford Ernie (Rex) and Marjorie (Evans) Armstrong.

Carl grew up in Howard, Kansas and graduated from Howard High School in 1959.  On September 13, 1963, he married Edna Bell in Miami, Oklahoma.  He retired as an expeditor at Cessna Aircraft Company.

He is survived by his wife, Edna; his daughters, Carla (Rick) Hess of Augusta, Kansas and Sherry (Dale) Seifert of Parsons, Kansas; a son, Shane (Holly) Armstrong of Wichita, Kansas; grandchildren, Aubrey (Brandon) Farley, Alec Hess, Taylor and Jaden Shyrock, Kyle (Hayden) Seifert, Shanna Ash, and Brinn, Jett, and Elle Armstrong; and great-grandchildren, Korbin Rexford Gene Farley, Makenzi Farley, Braiden Ruffo, Holland Seifert, and expecting River Farley.  He was preceded in death by his father, Rex Armstrong; his mother, Marjorie Armstrong-Gibbon; his stepfather, Frank Gibbon, and great-grandchildren, Owen, Hope, Andrew, and Angel Armstrong. 

Viewing will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. with Celebration of Life following at 11:00 am. at Headley Funeral Chapel, 813 State Street, Augusta, Kansas.  Carl's family requests visitors please wear red if comfortable to celebrate the Nebraska Cornhuskers #1 fan.  Private graveside service will be held at a later date at Grace Lawn Cemetery in Howard, Kansas.  Memorial donations may be made to the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration, Radnor Station Building 2, Suite #320, 290 King of Prussia Road, Radnor Pennsylvania 19087 or NewSpring Church, Inc., 12200 East 21st Street North, Wichita, Kansas 67206.
