Earl Alvin Allen, age 85, of Moline, Kansas, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2019 with his wife and daughter-in-law by his side at the Wichita VA in Wichita, Kansas.  He was born on November 16, 1933 to Hayse William and Corinne Alice Allen, the oldest of six siblings.

Earl served in the Korean War from 1953 to 1955.  During his service, he became injured and was honorably discharged.  Earl worked his way up to manager of several bakeries, such as Bond Bakery, Rainbow, and Certified Bakeries in Wichita, Kansas.  He worked as a typewriter repairman and had several contracts with schools. He also had a restaurant in the 1990s.

Earl married his first wife, Vera, and they had children Alton, Terry, and Enola.  This marriage ended in divorce.  He then married Dorothy, and with this marriage came two bonus kids, Marty and Roberta.  Calvin and Wayne followed.  Earl and Dorothy later divorced.  Earl married Norma and gained three more bonus kids, Jack, Craig, and Christopher.  Norma preceded him in death.  Earl married Lila Sue Taylor in Sand Springs, Oklahoma and gained another bonus child, Lyle Riggs.

Whether the children were blood or step, Earl claimed them all as his own.  He loved motorcycles along with racing them, playing his guitar, and writing and singing songs.  He was a handyman, mechanic, and had a stump removal business for several years.

Earl is survived by his wife, Lila Sue Taylor-Allen of the home in Moline, Kansas; daughters, Enola (Jack) Nichols of Amarillo, Texas and Robert Jordan of Wichita, Kansas; sons, Alton Allen of Amarillo, Texas, Jerry (Jhona) Allen of Apache Junction, Arizona, Marty Somerville of Van Buren, Arkansas, Calvin Allen of Independence, Kansas, Wayne Allen of Wichita, Kansas, Jack Coleman of Wichita, Kansas, Craig (Cheryl) Coleman of Severy, Kansas, Christopher Coleman of Wichita, Kansas, and Lyle (Tessa) Riggs of Severy, Kansas; sisters, Betty Johnson of Texas and Dora Mead of Disney, Oklahoma; several grandkids and great-grandkids; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, Carmel and Flossie Allen; his sister, Nadine Tucker; his brother, Jimmie Allen; and his daughter-in-law, Linda Allen.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cox Building in Howard, Kansas.  Memorials may be made to the Flint Hills Assembly of God in Howard, Kansas.
