Fred Evans Dexter, 74, of Coffeyville, Kansas, passed away on April 19, 2019 at Windsor Place in Coffeyville.  He was born on July 6, 1944 in Independence to Fred E. and Rosabell I. (Reed) Dexter.

Fred grew up in Longton, Kansas where he attended the local schools.  He then spent the rest of his life in Coffeyville.  He was a farmer and worked for Johnson Lumberyard and more recently for the Coffeyville Feed Store.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting.  He was a member of the Emmanuel Chapel in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma.

Fred is survived by his sister, Kathy Mitchell of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and her family.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred Dexter and Rosabell Dexter-Easum.

Cremation has taken place, and a private inurnment will take place at a later date in Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville, Kansas.  David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville was in charge of arrangements.
