Arlan William Willich, age 82, of Howard, Kansas, passed away April 16, 2019 at his home.  He was born August 21, 1936 in Valley Center, Kansas to William Henry and Ruby Cecilia (Adler) Willich.

Arlan graduated from Howard High School in 1955.  After high school, he joined the military in January 1956 where he served in the United States Marines for three years.  After being discharged, Arlan went to work for Boeing Aircraft and worked for them until his retirement.  He was proud of his career with Boeing as he got to travel to many places for them, working on the President's plane, Air Force One.

Arlan's favorite hobbies were hunting and fishing.  He would spend the fall hunting deer and would travel to North Dakota on pheasant hunting trips.  He was a member of the Kansas Trap Shooters Association and traveled various places for trap shooting competitions where he won several awards.

Arlan is survived by his sister, Joetta and husband, Dan Miller of Howard, Kansas; his nieces, Cindee and husband, Tom VanBuskirk of Arvada, Colorado and Nancy and husband, Chip Crum of Howard, Kansas; his nephew, Troy and wife, Cherrie Miller of Amarillo, Texas; six great-nieces and nephews; and three great-great-nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Countryside Funeral Home, 206 E. Washington, Howard, Kansas 67349.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to either the American Diabetes Association or the Elk County Ministerial Alliance and can be mailed to or left with the funeral home.  Services have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 206 E. Washington, Howard, Kansas 67349.
