Turner Samuel McLean, age 12, of Howard, Kansas, passed away January 6, 2019 in Omaha, Nebraska after a year-long fight with many complications resulting from a brain tumor.  Turner was born October 9, 2006 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Scott and April McLean.

Turned lived in Howard and was in the 6th grade at West Elk School.  He loved and looked up to many people in his life, but his number one passion was his family.  Whether it was being outside gardening with his mom and helping her can vegetables or watching his siblings play football, basketball, and track, he just wanted to spend time and be with them.  He also had an old soul.  He would be the first one up in the morning, make himself some coffee, and be enjoying some old black and white western movie when the rest of the family woke up.

Turner is survived by his parents, Scott and April McLean; his sisters, Avery and Holly Jo; his brother, Holton; his grandparents, Mike and Barb (Mimi and Grandpa) McLean and Mark and Robin (Grandma and Grandpa) Brisbois; great grandparents, Richard and Juanita McLean, George Weyrauch, Paul Brisbois, and Gene Niblck and Doris Taylor;  Uncle Gary Adams and cousin, Laela, Aunt Elaina and Dustin Willhite and cousins, Mikah and Lane, Aunt Tania and Nathan Turner and cousins, Chloe, Cole, and Isabel, and Aunt Shona and Trek Lewis and cousins, Randy, Emaly, and Kirk.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 10, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home in Howard, Kansas.  Funeral service will be held Friday, January 11, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the West Elk High School Gymnasium.  The family requests if you have a Team Turner shirt or Turners Prayer Warrior shirt, please wear them to the funeral in memory of Turner.  They also request you wear goofy or fun socks.  Online condolences can be left at www.countrysidefh.com.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Team Turner Scholarship Fund and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.  Countryside Funeral Home, 206 E. Washington, Howard, Kansas 67349 is in charge of arrangements.
