Marvin T. "Hoss" Ford, 69, of rural Altoona, Kansas and formerly of Fall River, Kansas and Fredonia, Kansas, passed away on October 3, 2018 at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita, Kansas.  He was born Septembe3r 23, 1949 in Cedar Vale, Kansas, the son of Delbert W. Ford and Dorothy Armena (Doty) Ford.

Marvin graduated from Fredonia High School in Fredonia, Kansas and received his welding certificate at Wichita Area Training Center in Wichita, Kansas.  He later worked as a welder at Harper Hand Trucks in Wichita and also was a truck driver for Smith Brothers and later for Starbuck Trucking for more than ten years.  He hauled mail in the 1980s and worked in the oil field hauling drilling mud.

Marvin served with the Kansas Army National Guard for many years and was honorably discharged.  He attended the Fall River United Methodist Church.  On February 14, 2009, he was united in marriage to Vicki Lynn Vandaveer in Fredonia, Kansas.  He had a lasting love for his family and helped out on the family farm in Fall River with his parents whenever possible.  Marvin will be remembered for his kindness, friendship, and big heart.  He absolute loved exploring and going mudding.

Survivors include his wife, Vicki of the home; children Sean and Skye Ford of Independence, Kansas, Alfred and Stephanie Kidd of Bennington, Kansas, Delbert and Amy Ford of Caney, Kansas, Robin Beachy of Neodesha, Kansas, and Rebecca and Matt Bastings of Carthage, Missouri; his sister, Debra Hogan and husband, Larry Schmidt of Alva, Oklahoma; his cousin, Brenda and Neal Derrick of Stinnett, Texas; grandchildren, Leo Ford, Xavier Ford, Donavin Ford, Simon Westhoff, Delbert Ford, Naomi Ford, Blake Ford, Avery Kidd, Jaxson Kidd, Alex Beachy, Paullix Beachy, Sydney Bastings, Dawson Bastings, and Reece Bastings; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his son-in-law, Ray Beachy.

Cremation has taken place.  Celebration of Life Memories will be held on Friday October 12, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 402 N. 8th Street, Fredonia, Kansas.  Memorial remembrances are suggested to Pound Pals and may be left with or mailed to Wickham Family Funeral Home, 510 N. 7th, Fredonia, Kansas 66736 which is in charge of arrangements.
