Vernon Charles Fox departed from this life on September 23, 2018.  He was born on May 15, 1929  near Severy, Kansas to Harrison "Harry" and Esther (Forbes) Fox, the oldest of five children.

Vernon graduated from Buffalo High School in Buffalo, Kansas in 1948.  He married Grace Jacob on March 8, 1953.  He was a plumber for 25 years and retired at age 64.  Vernon had an entrepreneur's heart including renting bicycles built for two at Riverside Park in the 60s, a stump grinding business, and was best known as a beekeeper around Severy, Kansas.

Survivors include his brother, Robert Fox (Donna) of Wichita, Kansas; his sister, Carol Meyer of Severy, Kansas; his daughters, Colleen Evanega of Wichita, Kansas and LeAnn Maskrid (George) of Valley Center, Kansas; sons, David Fox of Wichita, Kansas and Glenn Fox (Kim) of Tulsa, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Nichole  Laurence (Lloyd)), Andrea Hubbard (Kyle), Brit Maskrid, Shawnmarie Rooker, and Jacob Fox; and five great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 61 years; and brothers, Lowell Fox and George Fox. 

Funeral services will be held at Baker Funeral Home in Valley Center, Kansas at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2018.  Graveside service will follow at Kechi Township Cemetery, 6523 N. Hillside, Wichita, Kansas.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.bakerfhvc.com.  Baker Funeral Home of Valley Center, Kansas is in charge of arrangements.
