Robert Eugene Scobee, age 87, of Augusta, Kansas, passed away September 28, 2018 at his home.  He was born in Grenola, Kansas on November 15, 1930 to Ethel (Robinson) and Roy Nathan Scobee.

Robert graduated from Grenola High School in 1949 and later served in the United States Army in the Korean War.  He then became a truck driver for Keebler Cookies.  One of his greatest accomplishments was getting an award for driving 1,000,000 miles without an accident.  He retired after 36 years.  On July 26, 1975, he married Helen Dennett. 

Robert is survived by his son, John Scobee and wife, Holli of Augusta, Kansas; his son, Loyd Newman and husband, Bob Hogg of Cathedral City, California; his sister, Pearl Bright of Valley Center, Kansas; and his grandson, Dakota Scobee.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen on February 19, 1990; and four brothers and four sisters.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Headley Funeral Home, 813 State Street, Augusta, Kansas.  Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Wichita, Kansas.  Memorial donations may be made to Encompass Hospice, 245 N. Waco, Suite #125C, Wichita, Kansas 67202.  Headley Funeral Home of Augusta, Kansas was in charge of arrangements.
