Lawrence Earle Harmon, 82, longtime resident of Cushing, Oklahoma, passed from this life on July 28, 2018 at his home in Cushing.  He was born August 19, 1935 in Cushing to parents Bryan and Earlena (Mandeville) Harmon.

Lawrence grew up in the Cushing area, graduating from Cushing High School.  On September 9, 1955, he married the love of his life, Patricia Ann Driggs.  Their union of 52 years was blessed with four children and countless moments of love and laughter.

Lawrence graduated from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma with a teaching degree.  After graduation, he received a job offer from the school district in Howard, Kansas, and he accepted a job as the Agriculture instructor for the Howard, North Elk, and West Elk schools for the next 30 years.    He was deeply passionate about teaching and positively influencing his students' lives.  He was well loved by all that had the opportunity to be in his classes.

Lawrence loved taking his family to the cabin at the lake, and many fun days were spent boating, hunting, and fishing together.  He and Pat enjoyed square dancing together and traveled all around dancing with the many friends they had made.

Lawrence was very mechanically inclined, and many friends and neighbors benefited from his small engine repair skills on their lawn mowers.  After retiring from teaching, Lawrence and Pat moved back to Cushing, and he went to work in the oilfield for Williams Pipeline.  He was a member of Big Creek Church of the Brethren and regularly attended until his health began to fail.

Lawrence is survived by his four children, Lawrence E. "Larry" Harmon, jr. and wife, Cindy of Hockley, Texas, Ray Bryan Harmon and wife, Kelly of Indianapolis, Indiana, Allen L. Harmon and wife, Rita of Cushing, Oklahoma, and Annette C. "Ann" Cox and husband, Rick of Stillwater, Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; siblings, Doris Walter, Ruby and Ken Parnell, Verna Ledgerwood, Roy and JoAnn Harmon, Darrell and Sara Harmon, Carol and Jayson Dobson, and Margaret Bryant; sister-in-law, Debbie Harmon; and numerous extended family and a host of friends.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Patricia, and his brother, Gene Harmon.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Big Creek Church of the Brethren, 101 N.
