Roberta Lee "Bobbie"  Knight, 54, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away June 21, 2018 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas due to complications of pneumonia and sepsis.  She was born December 7, 1963 in Coffeyville, Kansas, the daughter of Robert and Jewell (Peyton) Rupert.  She was raised by her mother and stepfather, Otis G. Howell.

Bobbie received her education in the Wichita, Kansas area.  She was united in marriage to Melvin Lee Knight Jr. in 1982.  The couple made their home in Severy, Kansas, and Bobbie worked for Tow Service Inc. out of Wichita.  The couple had two daughters.  Melvin preceded her in death due to a motor vehicle accident in 1987.  Bobbie then moved to Winfield, Kansas.  In 1993, Bobbie was in a motor vehicle accident that rendered her a paraplegic.  After the accident, Bobbie and her children resided with her mother and stepfather in Winfield. 

Prior to her accident, Bobbie enjoyed fishing, friends, NASCAR, cooking, playing pool, and BINGO.  After the accident, she enjoyed visiting with friends and family, going out to eat, shopping, being the test taster for her daughter Misti's food creations, playing cards and dominoes, BINGO, Casino, and spending time with her beloved Siamese cat, Puddles.

Bobbie's whole life, before and after the accident, she was always concerned for others' well-being.  She rarely complained about anything and always saw the bright side of everything.  She always had a smile on her face to greet you and would always say, "Everything happens for a reason".

Her family includes her daughters, Misti Ingram and husband, Nate of Winfield, and Kristie Knight of Wichita, Kansas; granddaughter, Kirstie Stiner of Winfield, Kansas; mother, Jewell "Kay" Howell of Winfield, Kansas; brothers, Steve Rupert Sr. and wife, Vicki of Wichita, Kansas and Chuck Rupert and wife, Trudy of Haysville, Kansas; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her kitty cat, Puddles.  She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Rupert; stepfather, Otis G. Howell;  husband, Melvin Lee Knight, Jr.; and her sister, Glenna Rupert.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 29, 2018 t Miles Funeral Home in Winfield, Kansas from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and the family will greet visitors from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Funeral service will be Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield, Kansas.  Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has bee established in Bobbie's name for her only granddaughter, Kirstie Siner's education.  Contributions may be made through Miles Funeral Service, 4001 E. 9th Avenue, Winfield, Kansas 67156.
