Winifred Jane Heisler, age 91, passed away June 20, 2018 at Labette Health in Parsons, Kansas.  She was born March 31, 1927 to Mike and Audrey (Anderson) Weyrauch at their home south of Howard, Kansas.

Winifred didn't finish school as she met the love of her life and married Leland Heisler when she was 15 or 16 years old.  From this marriage, four children were born, Mamie, Sharon, Jim, and Pat.  Winifred and Leland worked at many things throughout the years which included farming, truck driving and school bus driving for the Fiat School.  They were married for many years until his passing in 2000.

Winifred was a hard worker, a caregiver, and she loved people.  One of her favorite things to do was deliver meals for the Friendship Meals in Howard, which she did for many years.  She was also pretty fond of taking naps in the chair with Sissy her dog grandchild, who will miss her very much.

Winifred is survived by her son, Jim Heisler of Vassar, Kansas; her daughters, Mamie Heisler of Independence, Kansas and Sharon Bowen of Independence, Kansas; her brother, Jess Weyrauch of Alva, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Shannon Preston, Shayla Cramer, Stephanie Starling, Sasha Cook, Jeff Town, and Jodie Town; 14 great-grandchildren; and 1 dog grandchild, Sissy.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Leland; her sister, Jackie Winkleman; her brothers, John Weyrauch and Tom Weyrauch; her daughter, Pat Preston; and her grandchildren, Chelise Mitchell, Robert Town, and Brent Bowen.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 25, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Countryside Funeral Home in Howard, Kansas with family receiving friends from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. prior to the service.  Private family inurnment will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made in
Winifred's name to the Friendship Meals of Howard which may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.  Countryside Funeral Home, 206 E. Washington, Howard, Kansas 67349 is in charge of arrangements.
