Connie Lynn Claypool, 78, retired Registered Nurse, passed away April 30, 2018 in Wichita, Kansas.  She was born on April 21, 1940 to Raymond A. and Phyllis M. (Jones) Divine in Moline, Kansas.

Connie spent her childhood on the family farm and graduated from Howard High School in Howard, Kansas in 1958.  She then attended William Newton Memorial School of Nursing in Winfield, Kansas and received her nursing degree in 1961.  She worked as an RN in Winfield, Eureka, and Wichita hospitals before transitioning into public health nursing.  She retired from the Wichita Sedgwick County Department of Community Health in 1995 after 30 years of service.  Connie was an avid sports fan and loved watching her Kansas teams compete.  She maintained a continuing interest in all things medical and kept her active certification as a nurse after retirement.

Connie is survived by her son, David (Kelly) Claypool and her brother, Randy Divine.  She is preceded in death by her father, Raymond A. Divine and her mother, Phyllis M. Divine.  Private family services will be held at Grace Lawn Cemetery in Howard, Kansas.  Memorials have been suggested in her name to the Elk County 4-H Club and may be mailed or left with the funeral home.  Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com  Services are entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 206 E.
