Frankie Shay, age 65, of rural Fredonia, Kansas, passed away on April 25, 2018 at his home.  He was born on November 28, 1952 in Fredonia, the son of Warren William and Frankie (Parks) Shay.

After attending school, Frankie joined the United States Navy.  After serving his country, he returned back home, and on February 15, 1975, he married Jane C. Wiseman in Fredonia.  He worked and retired from REC as a lineman, but his true passion was raising his cattle and being a rancher.

Frankie was a member of the Fredonia VFW.  He enjoyed hunting, raising his cattle, visiting, and drinking a beer with his friends.  He enjoyed life and living it to the fullest.  Most of all, he loved his wife, children, and ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, Gavin Wilson and Emma Shay.

Including his wife, Jane, of the home, Frankie is survived by his daughters, Betsy Hebb and Dave Henry of Moline, Kansas and Heather Hyler and husband, Rodney of Buxton, Kansas; his son, Trenton Shay and wife, Mona of Fredonia, Kansas; his brothers, Bob Shay of Fredonia, Kansas and Mike Shay and wife, Eva of Altoona, Kansas; his sisters, Nellie Claibourn and Linda Crain and husband, Tom of Fredonia, Kansas.  Frankie was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Bud Shay and George Shay; his sisters, Murdene Weatherby, Isabel White, and Minnie Shay; and grandson, Dalton Hyler.

Cremation has been requested.  A memorial service will be held May 1, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Countryside Funeral Home in Fredonia, Kansas.  Memorials have been suggested to either the Fredonia VFW or the Wilson County 4-H Livestock Committee and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.countrysidefh.com.  Services have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 310 W. 20th Street, Fredonia, Kansas 66736.
