Michelle Sue Hogan died November 27, 2017 at her home in Howard, Kansas from complications from diabetes.  The daughter of Kenneth Owen Hogan and Fonetta Kay (Smith) Hogan, Michelle was born on July 24, 1966 in Sedan, Kansas.

Michelle was born  three months early, weighing only 3 pounds.  During her birth, her great-great-grandmother, Leota Baughman, was being released from the hospital, but after hearing that Fonetta was giving birth, there was no budging her to leave until she got to see the baby.  After three months, Michelle was deemed healthy enough to go home with her loving parents and was shown off to family and friends while sleeping in a decorated shoe box.

Michelle was such a delightful baby and daughter.  She attended elementary school in Longton, Kansas and Emporia, Kansas.  She then graduated from Rose Hill High School in Rose Hill, Kansas.  After high school graduation, she worked at Coleman Company in Wichita, Kansas, was a manager of 7-11 in Derby, Kansas, was a social services worker at Twilight Manor in Howard, Kansas, and was an Elk County Court Deputy in Howard, Kansas.  She opened the "Watch Me" video store several years ago as a way to supplement her regular income.  It is believed the video store was her way of being able to watch her beloved movies any time she wanted.  Her last endeavor was Pinkyz Huse of Treasures in Howard, Kansas which  featured gently used clothing, furniture, items for the home, pretty trinkets, and accessories.  More often than not, she would be using one of her many beautiful purses from the store.

Michelle loved life, family, her friends including her loving caregiver and housemate, Barbara, and finally her 13-year-old dachshund, Peanut.  She loved working in Pinkyz, playing games on her computer tablet, playing a lively game of cards or Yahtzee with family and friends, walking, or just sitting on her front porch enjoying the beautiful days and watching the squirrels playing in the park across the street.  She enjoyed riding and caring for her horses, going to the casino, eating with friends, listening to music, attending garage sales and auctions, coloring in her many adult coloring books, putting puzzles together, and solving puzzles in puzzle books with her mom while seeing who could finish first.  Michelle usually won, and she also loved to play crazy tricks on her younger sister, Valery.  Michelle had an extensive collection of key chains and old jars.  Most of all, she enjoyed being with her family and friends.

Michelle leaves to cherish her memory her mother and stepfather, Fonetta and James Keith; father, Kenneth Hogan; two sisters, Valery Keith and Samantha Hogan; maternal grandmother, Melba Smith; substitute brother/cousin, Jeremy Floyd and wife, Steffanie; longtime friend and caregiver, Barbara Corle; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Flint Hills Assembly of God Church in Howard, Kansas.  Funeral services will be held also on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Flint Hills Assembly of God Church with Pastor Robin Haines officiating.  Burial will follow at the Moline Cemetery in Moline, Kansas.  Davis Funeral Home of Cushing, Oklahoma is in charge of arrangements.
