Jackie Leroy Vestal, age 70, of Longton, Kansas, passed away on October 16, 2017 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.  Jack was born on January 6, 1947 in Winfield, Kansas to John Dee and Dorothy Audine (Fisher) Vestal.

Jack graduated from Longton High School in 1965 and immediately joined the United States Navy.  He married Mary on August 12, 1972 in Howard, Kansas.  After working as a journeyman and various other jobs, he retired from Cobalt Bots with 22 years of service.  The joy of Jack's life was his wife and three boys.

Jack leaves behind his wife, Mary Elizabeth Vestal of the home; sons, Curtis Lynn Vestal and wife, Jennifer and Leonard Blackwill and wife, Michele; and granddaughters, Ashley Blackwill and Destiny Vestal.  He was preceded in death by his parents, John Dee and Dorothy Audine Vestal and his son, Ervin Dee Vestal. 

A visitation will be held Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Countryside Funeral Home in Howard, Kansas from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with the funeral service following at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will follow the service at Longton City Cemetery in Longton, Kansas.  Online condolences may be left at countrysidefh.com  Memorials have bee suggested to the Longton Alumni and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.  Services have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 206 E. Washington, Howard, Kansas 67349.
