Emma Irene Noland, age 95, of Longton, Kansas, died September 29, 2017 at Fredonia Regional Hospital in Fredonia, Kansas.  She was born on February 21, 1922 in Udall, Kansas, the daughter of Cecile Anthony and Irene Pearl (Ashworth) Busch.

On January 5, 1939 in Derby, Kansas, Emma married Leo Elvin Noland.  Emma and Elvin were married for 35 years until his death on September 14, 1974 including working on the family farm where she lived for 65 years.  Emma worked for the postal service in Longton for 30 years until her retirement.

Emma was a resident of Elk County, Kansas for 69 years. She helped with and worked with the Longton Free Fair for 42 of those years.  When she was not working with the Fair Association, she loved to sew and make her family clothing and quilts.  She also enjoyed playing cards and watching baseball.  Most of all, she loved being with her family and friends.

Emma is survived by two sons, Leo Noland and Jim Noland and wife, Lisa, all of Longton, Kansas; two brothers, John E. Busch of Augusta, Kansas and Lawrence Busch of Denard, Arkansas; one sister, Ruth M. Manning of Augusta, Kansas; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elvin; and two sisters, Lois Hagabusch and Bernice Spivey.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 3, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home in Fredonia, Kansas.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Longton United Methodist Church with Pastor Deana 'allison officiating.  Burial will follow at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery south of Buxton, Kansas.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Longton Free Fair Association and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.  Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com.  Services have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 420 S. 20th Street, Fredonia, Kansas 66736.
