What all these men had in common was that they championed or were chiefly responsible for  the centralized, monopolistic, bureaucratic states in their respective countries.  They also advocated or supervised mass murder as a means of achieving their political ends.

BTW, these days both the Republicans and Democrats claim to be the Party of Lincoln and they both look like the Party of Lincoln.  We have two (2) socialist parties in the uSA.
