Mildred Jean Freeman, 90, of Sedan, Kansas, died September 16, 2017 in Augusta, Kansas.  She was born August 21, 1927 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma to Frank Leon and Lettie Pearl (Johnson) Potter.

As a young children, she lived on a farm in Oklahoma and attended school in Boulanger, Oklahoma.  Then they moved to Chautauqua, Kansas where she attended school.  On March 23, 1946, she was united in marriage to Robert E. "Bob" Freeman at her parents' home in Chautauqua.  Bob and Mildred were married for 55 years before he passed in 2001 following a lengthy illness.  Bob and Mildred lived in rural Chautauqua where she worked in the school lunchroom.  Later she worked at the Sedan Floral and Ackarman Hardware and Bob worked for Sinclair Oil.  They raised four children, Mark, Roger, Cindy, and Cheryl.

In 1957, Bob and Mildred bought a ski boat, and many weekend days were spent with their friends and children's friends skiing on Hulah Lake.  In 1970, they moved to Sedan, Kansas and took up a different hobby, golfing.  Together they took numerous trips to golf courses in different parts of the United States with their friends.

In 1971, they started Freeman Oil Company which they owned until 1997.  It was during this exciting time of their lives that they were able to enjoy going to Royal baseball games and took several bus tours to other cities for the KC Royals baseball games.  In 1984, Bob became a member of the B-29/B-24 Squadron of the Confederate Air Force (CAF).  Mildred joined the Confederate Air Force herself when Bob took on the job of tour director in 1989.  She must have thought for sure that he needed her excellent organizational skills to help keep things running smoothly, because in total, Bob and Mildred were tour directors six years.  From April to October, they traveled to airports for static displays and air shows.  During the winter months, they scheduled air shows and helped find the funds needed to obtain fuel for FIFI.

Mildred is survived by three of her children, Mark Freeman and wife, Penelope of Maize, Kansas, Roger Freeman, and wife, Ruth of Sedan, Kansas, and Cindy Sharp and husband, Robert of Severy, Kansas; her brothers, Johnny Lee Potter of Houston, Texas and Larry Allan Potter and wife, Mary Lou of Cushing, Oklahoma; one sister-in-law, Elouise Potter of Kansas City; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by one daughter, Cheryl Bolack; her husband, Robert E.
