Janet Angela Lane, 36, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away on July 7, 2017.  She was born in Lawrence, Kansas on September 7, 1980.  She was a proud graduate of the Class of 2000 of West High School in Howard, Kansas. 

Janet lived in Wichita, Kansas in a group home operated by ResCare.  She also worked in the ResCare facilities.  She was a member of the Howard United Methodist Church in Howard, Kansas and the Flint Hills Booster 4-H Club.  She enjoyed sports, both in high school and in Wichita, and she recently participated in basketball in Wichita but also played softball, bowled, and swam.

Janet is survived by her adoptive parents, Jim and Debbie Lane of Howard, Kansas; her brothers, Dusty, Tom, Stephan, and James; along with many aunts, uncles and cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 24, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home in Howard, Kansas with Pastor Susan Galvan officiating.  Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to ARC in Wichita, Kansas and the West Elk Softball program in Howard, Kansas and may be mailed to or brought to the funeral home at 206 E. Washington, Howard, Kansas.  Online condolences may be sent to www.countrysidefh.ocm.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home in Howard, Kansas.
