Stanton Eugene Williams, age 76, passed away on June 24, 2017 from injuries received in an automobile accident.  He was born on February 4, 1941 in Grenola, Kansas to Faye and Kenneth Wiliams.

Stanton graduated from Fredonia High School in Fredonia, Kansas in 1959.  He then entered the United States Navy and served for four years.  He married Janet Gosch in 1965 in Norwich, Kansas.  He worked for Boeing for several years before graduating from Wichita State University in !975 with a degree in Industrial Arts.  He taught school for 20 years in Conway Springs, Kansas.  While teaching, he was active as a Student Council Advisor and part of the football chain gang crew.

Stan was an active man who was deeply involved in the Shriners for many years.  He was involved with the Camel Herders, Chefs, and the Hospital Van Drivers.  He received his Masons 50-year pin in 2015.  He was actively involved in the Fall River United Methodist Church and  the Fall River Barbeque and Church Bazaar where he annually helped his wife, Janet, sell tickets for the annual quilt raffle.  Stan was quick to volunteer his time and labor and served many "walking tacos" during the kids' Halloween parties in Fall River among numerous other community activities.  When he wasn't volunteering or busy with a mission, he enjoyed woodworking, cooking, hunting, fishing, and spoiling his many nieces and nephews.  His family and friends will always remember him as a very generous person.

Stanton is survived by his wife, Janet of Fall River, Kansas; his sister, Glenda Harborth of Arab, Alabama, and his brother, James (Kay) of Wingo, Kentucky.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Faye Morris, and his dad, Kenneth Williams, both formerly of Fredonia, Kansas.

Cremation has been effected.  No services are planned at this time.  Memorials have been suggested to the West Elk First and Second Grade for classroom reading books and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 206 E. Washington, Howard, Kansas 67349.
