Russell Eugene Jones, age 57, of Neodesha, Kansas, passed away at his home on June 19, 2017 surrounded by his family.  He was born on December 1, 1959 in Independence, Kansas to Rosalie Gail (McMurray) and Graydon Lee Jones.

Russell attended local schools and graduated from Longton High School in Longton, Kansas.  He married Dawn Leddy on May 1, 2009, and they made their home in Neodesha, Kansas.  He worked at Cobalt Boats in Neodesha for 33 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, fishing, and spending time with his family.  He attended the Nazarene Church in Elk City, Kansas. 

Survivors include three daughters, Wyspher Wilkes and spouse, Travis, Jessica Leddy, and Katelynn Jones, all of Neodesha, Kansas; four sons, Trayce Schmitt of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Tosh Littau and spouse, Tara of Independence, Kansas, Jeffrey Leddy and spouse, Kristen of Wichita, Kansas, and Travis Leddy of Kansas City, Missouri' four brothers, Bob Jones and spouse, Linda of Elk City, Kansas, Ronnie Jones and spouse, Anita of Ozawkie, Kansas, Roger Jones and spouse, Kris of Neodesha, Kansas, and Ricky Jones of Independence, Kansas; and six grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Rosalie Gail (McMurray) Jones and Graydon Lee Jones.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2017 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Elk City, Kansas with Pastor Terry Marta officiating.  Memorial contributions to Harry Hynes Hospice may be sent to Potts Chapel, 122 S. Penn Avenue, Independence, Kansas 67301 which is in charge of arrangements.
