The item, below says that Oil is selling for $9.50 per barrel--that translates to $248 per barrel in today's money.

Oil, today April 10, 2017, is selling for $52 per barrel.

The 13.5 cent per gallon cost of gasoline is equivalent to $3.79 per gallon, today.
