Leslie Elroy Condit, 96, Army veteran, passed away on January 17, 2017 at Fountainview Nursing and Rehab in Rose Hill, Kansas.  He was born on August 26, 1920 in Severy, Kansas to John L. and Gertrude (Benepe) Condit.

Leslie married the love of his life, Naomi Orbin, in Loveland, Colorado on August 17, 1949.  He worked at Boeing for 15 years and was a farmer by heart. He loved being outdoors, camping, fishing, and traveling, and he even built his own house on the farm.  He was also very active in the communities where he lived including being a Charter member of the Rose Hill Senior Center.

Leslie is survived by his wife, Naomi, of the home; his children, R. J. Condit (Sunnye), Gayla Schwarz (Rick), Eldon Condit (Julie), Vonda Thompson (Jim), Ivan Condit (Yong), and Ronald Condit; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Gertrude; his sisters, May Brattan, Arveta Sample, and Loletta Gragg; and a daughter-in-law, Kathy Condit.

No services are scheduled.  The family suggests memorial donations be made in Leslie's memory to the Rose Hill Senior Center, 217 SE Silknitter Street, Rose Hill, Kansas 67133.
