Grant William "Bill" Johnson, age 82, was born August 18, 1934 in Piedmont, Kansas to William Henry "Bill" and Florence (Hillman) Johnson.  He passed away October 27, 2016 in Wichita, Kansas. 

Bill was a retired Coleman lead foreman and forklift operator.  He grew up in Piedmont, Kansas and also had lived in Eureka, Kansas before settling in Wichita.

Survivors include his longtime companion and caregiver, Ruby; children, Raymond & Renda, Sherry & Daryl, Marilyn & Scott, Carolyn & Robert, and Connie; nine grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Florence Johnson; siblings, Earnest, Vola, Veda, and Irene; son, Robert; and the mother of his children, Veramae.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Cochran Mortuary, 1411 N. Broadway, Wichita, Kansas.  Inurnment will be held at the Piedmont Cemetery in Piedmont, Kansas on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 4:00 p.m.  A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association.
