Jessie Marie (Frost) Cole, age 73, passed away October 1, 2016 at Fredonia Regional Hospital in Fredonia, Kansas.  She was born April 1, 1943 in Eureka, Kansas to Eddie Pete and Emma Louise (Van) Frost.

On November 26, 1980, she married Leslie Duane Cole, having met him while working at Boeing Aircraft.  Jessie loved to love on animals, whether they were cats, dogs, and even in her younger days, skunks and raccoons.  Her love also was given to her son, Scott, who described his mother as very kind-hearted, possessing a great sense of humor.  Her hobbies included crocheting and collecting Elvis memorabilia.  She had a great passion for Elvis music but an even greater passion for Christmas.  My, how she loved Christmas!  Jessie would begin decorating and working on her display in October and had one of the biggest Christmas light displays in Severy, Kansas.  Scott said one year she had between 50,000 and 60,000 lights which always took a month or more to put up.  She was very well-known and will be remembered for her tremendous and huge Christmas display.

Jessie worked at various locations throughout her life including Boeing, Beechcraft, Cessna, and later the Twilight Manor Nursing Home in Howard, Kansas.  She also took personal care of her aging mother.

Jessie is survived by her husband, Leslie Cole of Severy, Kansas; her son, Scott Jones of Severy, Kansas; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Julie Marie Jones; her parents; and her sister, Lucille Betty Dalbey.  All of these she loved and touched deeply.

Please join Leslie and Scott in celebrating Jessie's life at a graveside service on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at South Lawn Cemetery in Severy, Kansas.  In lieu of flowers, the family's suggested donation may be made to Greenwood County Home Health or to help defray funeral expenses and may be left with or mailed to Countryside Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1233, Howard, Kansas 67349 which is in charge of the arrangements.  Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com.
